Look for Just Arrived!

Aidan!!!! His parents had me design a birth announcement to celebrate his arrival. I love the design they selected. You may remember the baby shower card I made here that was the inspiration for the announcements.

PTI's Fly Away is the perfect set for little boy cards.

The flight theme continued on the inside with room for a wallet photo to be inserted. The wording was . . .

We're flying high . . .

Just soaring through the clouds
We have a NEW SON
and couldn't be more proud!

then the baby details

Thanks goodness for dies. The cloud dies from PTI and the open scallop from MFT added the perfect touch.

200 clouds and 100 scallops later and the big shot just keeps working!

As a thank you to Mom and Dad for letting me help, I made this cute framed piece for Aiden's room. The airplane color changed to match his room.

What a great project! What are you working on? ~Rhonda

Brown Bag Challenge - PTI Blog Hop

It is time once again for the PTI Blog Hop. The challenge is to change an ordinary brown lunch bag into a paper crafting work of art.

I chose to create a brown paper bag album with tags. I stacked 3 bags together and sewed down the middle to create a book that has 12 pages and 3 pockets. Then the fun began!!!

The front cover has doo dads that were created by using the Beautiful Blooms II dies using a lot of different papers and buttons.

The background paper is from Wild Saffron from K&Company paper pack. Lots of double-sided pattern paper made this much easier. Did you notice the library card for journaling? LOVE IT!

The plan is to use fillable frame dies and mat stack dies to create frames for journaling on each page. But that is a work in progress.

I used Spellbinder's label one dies, squares, and labels three to create double-sided tags for the pockets! I love the turquoise stripe/dot ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Hopping Everyone! ~Rhonda

Boo'd Tins

Hi Everyone! Just a quick post to show you some super cute metal containers I found!! In my search for more composition notebooks I found these in the Dollar Spot at Target.

Aren't these colors wonderful for Halloween?!!! Also pictured are the composition notebooks like I altered earlier in the week. They are also from Target. They are college ruled and have the white spine that can be inked. They are a little more expensive at $1 but so worth it.

Enjoy your weekend! ~ Rhonda

thank you

Thanks to my proxy shopper, Lori, I have the new PTI Four of a Kind in my hands. Did anyone else think this bloom looked liked the little guys in the Dr. Seuss books? I think they were named Thing One and Thing Two!!!

My oldest son received "Oh the Places You Will Go" as part of a graduation present. Very appropriate I think.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm inspired to re-read a Seuss book. What about you? ~Rhonda

Life altering . . .

August and the beginning of a new school year has always been a time for me to re-focus and PLAN!! I don't have to plan for homeschooling this year as my youngest is a HS Senior and taking classes outside our home and dual credit at college. So . . . I'm just planning for me!

One plan for me is to spend time each morning for devotions and prayer before I can get on the computer. I altered one of the 25¢ composition notebooks for a journal. Can I tell you I love Modge Podge!!! Am I the only one who has owned the stuff forever and hadn't use it!! When I have altered notebooks in the past they didn't look so good. Get Modge Podge.

I love this Robert Louis Stevenson quote. The stamp set is from MFT. I won it in their recent bloghop. It does pay to leave comments!!!

I would hate to tell you how long it took to make this tag. I was trying to channel my inner Mish and layer etc. but the background paper is so busy that simple eventually won the day.

Did you notice the color of the binding? It was white but I used my PTI Chai cube. Love the result.

Hope you are staying cool. We had a weak front pass through yesterday, ending our 18 day streak of 100+ weather. It only reached 96. ~Rhonda

Oh Baby!

I just had to share this picture of my new nephew that arrived last Thursday, July 29th. Milaan weighed 6 lbs 6 ozs. They say he is a little angel--he certainly looks like one. I fly to CA later in the month to help take care of him and his twin brothers who are 13 months old.

I made this fun tag for his gift! I had made quilts for his brothers and had made an extra to have on hand in a different pattern never dreaming that I would need it so soon.

Inch by inch . . .

I'm playing along with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club. This week is a sketch that is perfect for Who's that Garden Girl? You can get the details here. I also send this to the new challenge of Cards - A Summer Theme.

I originally stamped the "beans" with PTI's Spring Moss and then couldn't figure out why it looked odd. DAH! I needed to use a brown for the outline. So tried to line it up for the second go round and was a little off. I decided I really liked the look. Seemed a little more "artistic". What do you think? ~Rhonda

Today's card makes my HAPPY! I love bright colors and fun sketches. The Papertrey Peeps #13 challenge by Carol asked that we use Mary Englbreit's work as our inspiration. Whenever I think about her creations, I think black, polka dots, and lots of color. The sketch is based on Get Sketchy #49. A perfect match for this project.

Time to Bloom

The flowers at my house are blooming! so is the water bill! :) actually we have a water well for that purpose or we'd be looking at a lot of brown grass.

The sketch is from Mojo Monday #150 and the theme is Floral Frenzy for the MFT guest designer challenge. The Pure Innocence image is Happy Mail. I cut the mailbox off to give a little more versatility. Do you see the ruffled ribbon at the bottom of her dress??? CUTE! I love paper piecing the dresses. It takes me back to paper-dolls.

I made an accordion flower using this tutorial. It was easy. I cut my paper strips 3/4". Next time I would do 1/2" so that it sets a little lower.

Have a marvelous day! ~Rhonda

Happy Happy Birthday

We arrived home from our Colorado Family Reunion just in time for 107° weather. Wish the Colorado folks could share some of their cooler weather. We had a fabulous time with family. My boys were the oldest cousins in attendance so the 13 little cousins gave them lots of love.

Bob and I also celebrated our 22nd anniversary. We went on the Ghost Tour and had dinner at the Stanley Hotel (The Shining Movie fame) in Estes Park. No ghost spotting but a beautiful place.

Today's card has me still playing with the glimmer mists. I sprayed a shipping tag then used Background Basics: Text Style II for the background. It was fun laying the different elements on the tag.

I love the Delightful Dahlia stamped on patterned paper! Don't you? ~Rhonda
